Welcome gentlemen. It’s actually quite unusual for us to raise such a personal matter in a press conference, but surely this warrants an exception. Daniel, Charles, congratulations!

Charles LECLERC: Thank you very much!

Daniel RICCIARDO: Cheers, that’s very—thoughtful, is that the word? Thoughtful, yeah.

Q: It comes as quite a surprise for most of us. Could you tell us anything at all about your relationship, how you strike a balance between your personal and professional relationships?

DR: We didn’t want to make it a fanfare or anything, keep it lowkey. But the press can be like sharks, they can smell blood from miles away.

CL: Yes, so we decided to announce this ourselves, share this happy news with the world.

DR: On our own terms! And it’s been smooth sailing, Charles and I always know how to keep things on and off the track separate, it’s never been an issue throughout our relationship. Never had a doubt that I wanted to wife him up!
